Ballet Fantastique

Presented by Western Ballet

Friday, May 4 at 7 pm
Saturday, May 5 at 7 pm

Western Ballet's annual mixed repertoire program features neoclassical masterpieces by Venezuela's world-renowned choreographer Vicente Nebrada as well as exciting works by Alexi Zubiria.
This season's program includes the American premiere of La Luna, a contemporary masterpiece by Vicente Nebrada, music by Michael Kamel, representing a ritualistic theme of the Moon and the Birth of its Children ( La Luna y Los Hijos que Tenía) taking place in a no man’s land where primal costumes and sacred dances of adulation of the moon ruled this remote tribal community.
Also don’t miss this opportunity to see Vicente Nebrada’s powerful and virtuoso piece Percussion for Six Men. The program also includes the premiere of Café Passáge, choreography by Alexi Zubiria, music by Astor Piazzola. This is an energetic abstract work set at a café where fantasies might become real. This ballet was inspired by Alexi Zubiria’s own memories of touring the world.
