The Wise Women (1672), originally a satirical comedy by Molière, was reimagined by Teatro Nahual under the title Two Husbands for Enriqueta. While Molière’s original work critiques intellectual pedantry and societal hypocrisy in 17th-century France, this adaptation is set in late 19th-century Mexico City. Through sharp humor and biting sarcasm, the play exposes the dangers of false intellectualism and the illusion of cultural superiority, while promoting a more genuine, balanced approach to knowledge, happiness, and communal life.

This performance is 1 hour and 20 minutes long, with no intermission, and is appropriate for all ages.
